JAMMU, Nov 22: The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) hosted a captivating outreach program, welcoming 260 students from Delhi Public School Udhampur, Govt Higher Secondary School Purmandal, Jawahar Navodaya Udhampur, and Jawahar Navodaya Doda.
Led by Prof Abhay Sharma, Dean of Continuing Education, and Dr Nalin Sharma, Associate Dean of Outreach, the program aimed to spark academic curiosity and inspire future aspirations among these young minds.
The visiting students embarked on a comprehensive campus tour, gaining firsthand experience with IIT Jammu’s cutting-edge facilities, including modern classrooms and well-equipped laboratories. Interactive sessions with faculty and current students provided valuable insights into diverse academic disciplines, fostering a deeper understanding of the institute’s educational offerings.
Enhancing the experience, a third-year B Tech student, Ashutosh, conducted an engaging workshop. This hands-on session introduced the students to the world of electronics and programming through the versatile Arduino open-source platform. Participants actively engaged in practical exercises, learning the fundamentals and creating innovative projects. The workshop not only ignited their passion for technology but also equipped them with essential skills for future endeavours in engineering, robotics, and other STEM fields.
The program served as an inspiration for these students, empowering them to explore their academic potential and envision a future filled with possibilities.
