JAMMU, Nov 22: MV International School as a team comprising Harshpreet Kour of Class 9, Ridhima Sambyal of Class 11 and Teacher Incharge, Marvi Slathia participated in 6th National Meet of American Field Services (AFS) member schools.
The event was hosted by Sanjay Ghodawat International School, Kolhapur, Maharashtra and it witnessed the participation of nearly 150 students and educators from 62 renowned schools from across India and abroad.
This year’s theme ‘Dare to Change-Be a Change-maker’ set the tone for the conference, which celebrated India’s rich cultural diversity.
MV International School was the sole representative from District Samba and Jammu, marking a significant achievement for the institution.
The event commenced with a grand opening ceremony and MV International School students represented Jammu Zone, showcasing Dogri culture and heritage through an impressive cultural stall.
Highlights included Basoli paintings, depictions of Jammu’s famous temples, traditional Dogri attire and a taste of Jammu’s culinary delights, such as the iconic Patisa sweet.
The MV team’s presentation received widespread appreciation from attendees, as students eloquently explained their exhibits and shared the vibrancy of J&K.
The event also featured keynote addresses by Deepak Vohra, Former Ambassador of India to Poland, Jayant Lal, Director AFS India Board, Gaurang Das, Priest of ISKCON Temple and Dilip Kulkarni, Environmentalist. A special music therapy session by Dr. Roshan Mansukhani added a therapeutic touch to the conference.
