JAMMU, May 8: Kendriya Vidyalaya No-1 Gandhi Nagar, Jammu today organized Annual Day Function at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University, here today.
Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu was the chief guest, while AVLJ Rao, Deputy Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Jammu Region was the guest of honour on this occasion. Arunima Sinha, General Manager Training Govt Executive Programmes (J&K) Art of Living and Secretary, IAS Officers Wives’ Association gave away the prizes.
The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest.
The students recited Sanskrit Shalokas during this ceremony. Ganesha Vandana was presented by the students of the Vidyalaya.
The chief guest was formally welcomed by T R Choudhary, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu who also presented annual report of the Vidyalaya, highlighting the achievements in the field of academics and co-curricular activities at various levels.
A cultural programme, comprising of Patriotic Song, Dance, Krishanavtar, Folk Dance, Nari Shakti item, Western Dance and Bhangra, was presented by the students.
Meritorious students in different fields of activities, as well achievers of CBSE Exams with Grade A and teachers with excellence in their performance in education and other fields were honoured on this occasion.
Speaking on this occasion, Rao appreciated the efforts made by the students to put up a very good show of cultural items with the essence of values.
Teachers-Sandesh Bhat, TGT, Rajni Baliya, PRT, Shashi Prabha, PRT and Sunil Kumar TGT were honoured for their outstanding achievements on the occasion.
The Programme ended with vote of thanks.
