Sir,
By doing away with Leh permit also called Inner Line Permit, the Government has brought cheers on those who usually were affected by it. It mostly affected labourers and tourists. Tourists will not have now go through the excruciating exercise of seeking permission from the concerned agency. Getting a permission entails lot of time and energy. While seeking the same,a tourist would feel taxed and his energy sapped. Instead of experincing a pleasant visit, he would often bemoan such an exercise.
The quashing of Leh permit will increase the inflow of tourist rush in the region which in turn would generate employment opportunities for the people and boost the economy of the region.
Being a strategically sensitive area, there should, however, be no laxity on the part of security officials. A constant vigil over the activities of people is a must.
Yours etc…
