JAMMU, Nov 26: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) organized a meeting at Lale Da Bagh near here, today marking the beginning of its campaign that would culminate in the grand event on Chetna Diwas to be held on December 27.
The meeting was attended by a large number of community members from the area including Shyam Sundar Raina, Bushan Lal Bhat and Neeraj Koul from Nand Bab Ashram who raised important issues concerning the displaced KPs. Shyam Sundar Raina stressed upon the safety and security of the PM package employees in Valley. He said that a robust safety mechanism needs to be in place for the youth serving in the Valley.
Senior member Bushan Lal Bhat stressed upon the creation of an Apex Body where different organisational heads should be brought under one platform to create traction in the demands of the community. Neeraj Koul stressed upon the need to create a conducive environment between different KP groups so that they can effectively communicate with the Government for various schemes for creating increased employment opportunities for our youth.
Chairman of the Trust, Roshan Lal Pandita in his address said that the Trust is very much alive to the demands of the community and would stress upon the Government to create more employment opportunities for KP youth in Government and also public sector undertakings. Pandita also said that the return and rehabilitation of the KP community in Kashmir is the core agenda and the Government needs to come clear on this issue. Pandita added that the return and rehabilitation of KPs in Kashmir is a political problem and can only be addressed politically.
Other members who spoke on the occasion stressed upon the key issue of the passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill in Kashmir. Members expressed hope that the new Government in the State would take a favourable position in this matter. They stressing on approaching the State and the Central leadership in this regard.
The prominent members of the PNBMT who attended the meeting included Kuldeep Raina,Kashmiri Lal Bhat, Bansi Lal Zar, Ramesh Marhatta, Hira Lal Jad, A.K.Raina, M.K.Jalali, Hira Lal Bhat, Shadi Lal Koul, Bihari Lal Zar, Navern Handoo and secretary, Sundri Lal Koul.
