NOWSHERA, May 9: Ravinder Sharma-MLC visited border areas of Lam-Laroka in Nowshera tehsil to take stock of the problems of people.
Mr. Sharma was apprised of the overcharging and overloading on Nowshera-Lam-Laroka areas by the transport operators. He was told that some mini bus operators are charging Rs. 30 against the earlier fare of Rs. 18 for Laroka from Nowshera. He also noticed large scale overloading as a result public and students face great hardships.
He spoke to transport authorities who disclosed that as per revised rates the fare of the mini bus from Nowshera to Lam is Rs. 15 and from bus Rs. 22 while for Laroka from Nowshera, it is Rs. 23 for mini bus and Rs. 28 for bus. But there are complaints of over charging to the extent of Rs. 30 per passenger, which is shocking. The MLC asked ARTO Rajouri to immediately take necessary action in matter.
