JAMMU, Nov 28: The 21st UT Matsogi-do Championship 2024 was inaugurated today by Satish Sharma, the Minister for Youth Services & Sports, at the Indoor Complex, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The event, organized by the Matsogi-do Association of Jammu and Kashmir, is being held from November 28 to 30, 2024, with 950 competitors from across the region participating. Taranjeet Singh Tony, DDC Member Suchetgarh and President of the Matsogi-do Association J&K, presided over the ceremony.
Minister Satish Sharma emphasized the Government’s commitment to nurturing young sports talent by providing state-of-the-art sports infrastructure and modern facilities, enabling them to compete at national and international levels. He also mentioned that medallists from this Championship would represent Jammu and Kashmir at the upcoming National Matsogi-do tournament in Chandigarh, scheduled for December 2024.
Athletes from Jodhamal School performed exceptionally well in the Championship, with Namit Malhotra, Kaashvi Gupta, and Avnit Malhotra securing gold medals in their respective categories.
