Shaivism is richest philosophy: Dr Bhat

JAMMU, Nov 28: Maintaining that Shiva is ultimate source of consciousness, Vice Chancellor, Skill Development University, Palwal, Haryana, Dr Raj Nehru today said that Kashmiri Shaivism and present contemporary science have semi balance.
Delivering a thought provoking lecture here, today on his recently published book “I am Shiva”, Dr Nehru threw light on Pritibhigyan Hardiyam the book written by great Shivacharya of Kashmir and principal disciple of Acharya Abhinavgupt Kshemndra. He said Pritibhigya reflects awareness of emotions. “Beyond the physical body there functions another body”. Maintaining that the physical awareness is important, he said in Kashmir Shaivism there is a stage in which one can relate himself with Physical body and emotional body.
This theory says that a person who builds awareness on witnessing consciousness ultimately develops synergy into physical and emotional body. Dr Nehru also threw light on the theory of non dualism of Kashmiri Shaivism.
In his address Dr R L Bhat a well known scholar and authority on the subject said that Kashmir Shaivism is one of the richest philosophy which Kashmir has given to world. Dr Bhat however said it is our duty to take the legacy forward. He said by merely speaking Kashmiri is not enough but we have to preserve our culture and legacy.
Terming Kashmir Shaiv Philosophy a great treasure, he said there is consciousness in every person but it is to be awakened.
The welcome address was proposed by Hira Lal Bhat a social activist and representative of Swami Aatma Ram Ji Vedanta Ashram. He also managed the stage. The function was organised by Aatma Ram Ji Vedanta Ashram Tumal Bohri in collaboration with Abhinavgupt Shaktiveers. The function among others was attended by I K Raina co convener Shaktiveers and vote of thanks was proposed by Avtar Krishan convener Shaktiveers.
