UDHAMPUR, Dec 1: The 2nd day of the District Udhampur Boys & Girls Volleyball Championship, organized by the Volleyball Association of District Udhampur under the aegis of the Volleyball Association of J&K and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, saw intense action as two semifinals were played alongside other pool matches.
In the Boys’ category, the first semifinal witnessed Udhampur Volleyball Club defeating Tikri Volleyball Club with a commanding 2-0 victory (25-18, 25-21). The second semifinal saw CVC Udhampur overcome Ramnagar Volleyball Club with a 2-0 win (25-14, 25-18).
In the Girls’ category, the first semifinal saw Ramnagar Volleyball Club B defeat Army Public School with a hard-fought 2-0 wins (25-10, 26-24). In the second semifinal, Ramnagar Volleyball Club A defeated Degree College Udhampur with a 2-0 victory (25-14, 25-10).
Both the finals will be held at the Volleyball Complex of Govt. HSS Boys, Udhampur where Pawan Kumar Gupta, MLA Udhampur (West), has consented to be the chief guest for the final.
Today’s activities were presided over by Ashok Kumar, a veteran national volleyball player and qualified referee of the Volleyball Federation of India. Notable attendees included Shashi Sharma, Physical Director, Degree College Udhampur, Kuldeep Sharma, national player, and Pawan Kumar, Joint Secretary VADU.
The matches were officiated by Naveen Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Sunil Khajuria, Rajesh Sharma and Vinod Sharma.
