*Shiva Club claims Sub-Junior, Junior titles

JAMMU, May 11: Glider Roller Skating Club smashed Indiana Roller Skating Club by 6-4 and claimed Senior Boys Inline Hockey title in the Open Inter District Roller Skating Championship, which concluded here today. Shiva Roller Skating Club claimed third rank.
In Skating Hockey (Sub Junior Boys), Shiva Roller Skating Club, Roller Athlete Skating Club and JP World School emerged winners, whereas in Junior Boys, Shiva Roller Skating Club claimed first position, while JMPS and Heritage School bagged second and third positions respectively.
In Senior Boys category, Addiction Roller Hockey Club under the captaincy of International Skater Ankush Gupta thrashed Roller Athlete Skating Club. Shiva Roller Skating Club bagged third rank.
In 1000 meters finals (6 to 8 years boys), Shaurya of Heritage School, Saboor of KC International School and Havish of KV Nagrota emerged winners. In 8 to 10 years (boys), Akarshit of Nagbani School, Nitiyan of JMPS and Eklavya of KC Public School claimed first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in 8 to 10 years (Girls), Dhiriti of Presentation Convent, Shivangi of Heritage School and Arshita of Nagbani School emerged winners.
In 10-12 years (Boys), Aditya of JP Worlds School and Anirudh bagged first and second positions, whereas Arandeep of JKP School and Asim of JP World School shared third positions.
In 12-14 years (Boys), Rakshit Saini of JMPS, Dhruv Gupta of DPS and Panini of Heritage School claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
In above 16 years (Boys), Ankush Gupta bagged first rank, whereas Aryaveer Singh Jamwal and Rajveer Gandotra secured second and third positions respectively.
On the valedictory function, Minister for Culture, Horticulture and Sports Raman Bhalla was the chief guest, who awarded the winners in presence of TS Bisht, Principal, Jodhamal Public School, Suman Mathur, Principal, Asha School, Jammu Cantt and sports lovers.
While speaking, Minister asked the youth to participate in the sports activities to keep their mentally and physically fit.
He added that the Government has taken various initiatives for the promotion of sports in J&K.
