Chana futures trade higher by 0.33 pc as demand picks up

NEW DELHI, May 12: Chana prices moved up by 0.33 per cent to Rs 3,064 per quintal in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in June moved up by Rs 10, or 0.33 per cent to Rs 3,064 per quintal with an open interest of 1,43,320 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in May gained Rs 8, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 2996 per quintal in 24,130 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators driven by rising demand in the spot market, influenced chana prices at futures trade. (PTI)
