JSS holds Sports Day for children with special needs

JAMMU, Dec 6: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, organized Sports Day for children with special needs, celebrating inclusivity, empowerment, and the importance of physical activity for every child. The event, held at the school premises, saw enthusiastic participation from children in various races, ball games, and relay events, promoting teamwork, perseverance and self-confidence.
In the Hurdle Race, Samarth clinched the first prize in Group 1, followed by Ruhan in second and Maaz in third. In Group 2, Mannan won the first prize, with Varaspreet second and Jasjeet third. In Group 3, Hanveer claimed the first prize, Taalya second and Adhyan secured third prize.
The Sprint-100m saw Karamveer won the first prize in Group 1, followed by Adarsh and Bhuvika in second and third. In Group 2, Karamveer took first, Sobir second, and Jasvir third. Group 3 saw Adhyaan, Atharav, and Ismeet win the top three spots.
The Tug of War winners included Team Angels (Manvir, Ayush, Viren, Jasjeet, Mridul, Rishav and Vansh), while Team Blessings (Mannan, Adhyan, Manvik, Varaspreet, Owais, Anubhav and Arman) were the runners-up. In the Raffa event, Akriti and Varaspreet topped the girls’ and boys’ categories in Groups 1 and 2, respectively.
Chief guest Rupesh Kumar, Director of Social Welfare, Jammu, praised the initiative, while Dr. Abhishek Chowhan, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, GMC Jammu, highlighted the role of physical activities in mental and emotional well-being. Principal Rohini Aima expressed pride in the children’s accomplishments, emphasizing the school’s commitment to inclusivity.
