Drug peddler detained under PSA

UDHAMPUR, Dec 10: Udhampur Police detained a hard-core criminal and drug peddler under Public Safety Act (PSA).
The accused, namely Parminder Singh alias Pammu, son of Rattan Lal of Tanal, Udhampur, was involved in several cases and number of FIRs including NDPS cases, were registered against him in Police Station Udhampur.
According to Police, activities of Pamma were detrimental for the peace and tranquility of the area and therefore acting tough against him, he has been lodged in District Jail Udhampur under Public Safety Act.
Meanwhile, Police arrested two drug peddlers and seized 15.95 grams of heroin from their possession.
Police team from Police Station Udhampur led by SHO Raghuvir Singh, intercepted a Swift car JK01C-0014 at Jakhani naka point. On frisking, 11.20 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from possession of the person travelling in the car. Police arrested the accused, identified as Raja Waseem, son of Abdul Waheed of Sheikhpora, Kupwara. A case under NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
In another success, a drug peddler was arrested in Chenani and 4.75 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from his possession. The accused was identified as Hamid Khan alias Midu, son of Latif, resident of Ward number 3, Chenani.
