NSUI holds protest, demands transfer of DG Sports

JAMMU, May 13: Demanding transfer of DG Sports Naveen Aggarwal from Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), NSUI staged a protest demonstration at MA Stadium here today.
The activists of NSUI assembled outside MA Stadium and raised slogans against DYSS and DG Sports.
The protestors also burnt the effigy of DG Sports and demanded re-conduct of the competition (Judo) in which weight groups were disqualified.
The protestors alleged unlawful disqualification of weight category in Judo in which number of players/participation was less than six.
Talking to media persons, State secretary NSUI Ranjodh Singh said that it is unfortunate that the DG Sports has disqualified those weight categories in which number of participants was less than six.
“It is not the fault of the players who fall in that category”, he said, adding that Inter School Championship is the competition from which the top players are selected for other levels including national.
He added that DG Sports is playing with the careers of the sportsmen who participate in these categories and were disqualified.
Ranjodh demanded transfer of DG Sports Naveen Aggarwal from DYSS.
District president Jammu Sunny Parihar said that NSUI will continue the protest demanding re-conduct of the tournament with old rules, without disqualifying any weight category and without considering the number of participants.
Others present were Danish, Aftab Keen, Aman, Gurvinder Singh, Balbir, Arunesh, Angral, Vikramjeet, etc.
