SRINAGAR, Dec 13: In a significant move to strengthen the implementation of artificial breeding programs in the field, Dr. Parvinder Singh, Director Animal Husbandry Department Kashmir/ Chief Executive Officer of Livestock Development Board (LDB) today handed over two Liquid Nitrogen Delivery Vehicles to the Chief Animal Husbandry Officers (CAHOs) of Bandipora and Shopian districts.
The vehicles, procured under the revenue head of LDB Kashmir, are equipped to ensure the uninterrupted supply of germplasm and liquid nitrogen used in artificial insemination program. This initiative aims to bolster livestock productivity and enhance breeding services in these districts.
During the handing-over ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer emphasized the importance of these vehicles in facilitating timely delivery of germplasm and liquid nitrogen to remote areas, ensuring seamless operations of artificial breeding centers. He stated, “The addition of these vehicles to the infrastructure of the Animal Husbandry Department reflects our commitment to modernizing livestock services and supporting farmers in improving the genetic potential of their livestock.”
The CAHOs of Bandipora and Shopian expressed their gratitude to the Livestock Development Board, highlighting that these vehicles will address long-standing logistical challenges and significantly enhance field-level breeding services.
This initiative aligns with the broader goals of the Livestock Development Board to promote sustainable livestock development and improve the livelihood of farming communities through efficient breeding programs.
