JAMMU, Dec 18: The five-day Inter-Regional POWERGRID Cricket Tournament 2024 concluded with Corporate Centre (CC) emerging as the winners, defeating Northern Region-II (NR-II) by 27 runs in a thrilling final held at MA Stadium, here today.
Corporate Centre (CC) batting first scored 140/9 in 20 overs, while NR-II managed only 113/9 in their reply. Mukesh Bhakar of CC was named Man of the Match for his stellar performance.
The final match was graced by Tarun Bajaj, Executive Director of POWERGRID Northern Region-II, as the chief guest and Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K Sports Council and Jagmohan Sharma, Chairman of JPDCL, as guests of honour. The dignitaries presented trophies and mementoes to the winners and participants.
Mukesh Bhakar was also named as the Man of the Tournament. Other awardees included Arun Khatkar of CC as Best Batsman, Ramesh Bishnoi of NR-I as Best Bowler, and Ankush Kundal of NR-II as best fielder.
The tournament held from December 14 to 18, saw participation from 11 teams across various regions of POWERGRID: Eastern Region-I (ER-I), Eastern Region-II (ER-II), Northern Region-I (NR-I), Southern Region-I (SR-I), Southern Region-II (SR-II), Western Region-I (WR-I), Western Region-II (WR-II), North Eastern Region (NER), Corporate Centre (CC), Northern Region-III (NR-III), and hosts Northern Region-II (NR-II).
