UDHAMPUR, May 17: Robin Singh Rathore of Jib zone clinched the gold medal in Under-17 boys 100 meters sprint race in ongoing District Level Inter-Zonal Athletic Meet which concluded at Subash Stadium, here today.
On closing ceremony, Sunil Sharma Principal Government Higher Secondary Boys Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion and declared the Meet closed. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed upon the participants to take more part in sports and games to make them-selves physically and mentally fit.
The Athletic Meet was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports.
In 100 meters Under-14 boys, Rahul Kumar of Jib zone bagged gold, while in 200 meters, Akhil Sharma of Udhampur zone won gold and in 400 meters, Gourav Sharma of Udhampur claimed gold.
The high jump, long jump, shot put and discus Under-14 gold medals went to Amir Hussain, Rahul Kumar, Ahmed Din and Sahil Kumar of Udhampur, Jib, Babey and Ramnagar zones respectively.
In 200 meters Under-17 boys, Rajinder Kumar of Chenani bagged gold, while in 400, 800, 1500 and 3000 meters, the gold medals went to Shezad, Mohd Shabir, Rakesh Singh and Sikander respectively.
The high jump, long jump, shot put and discus Under-17 gold medals went to Muzafar Fariq, Rajinder Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Manoj Kumar and Manoj Kumar respectively.
The officials who acted as judges included Pawan Kumar PEM, Raj Kumar Dogra PEM, Ajay Sharma PEM, Rakesh Modi PEM, Pushp Kumar PEM, Swarandeep Singh Tara PEM, Rakesh Sahni PEM, Shashi Bala PEM, Suresh Kumar PET, Kulbushan Kotwal PET, Pooja Devi PET, Raman Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar PET, Rakesh Khajuria PET, Anju Rani and Sanjeev Kumar.
