DODA, May 17: Durga Cricket Club Ramban defeated Pranoo Cricket by 59 runs in the inaugural match of All India 10th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2014 which commenced at Sports Stadium, here today.
The Tournament is being organized by the Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank, Bajaj Allianz and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Mubarak Singh was the chief guest and inaugurated the Tournament, while C O 10 RR Sunil Mishra was the guest of honour, besides this ADC Imam Din, 2IC10 RR and Social Activists Nuzahat Iqbal, Manager YSCC Mehboob Kripak and Mohd Iqbal Balwan were the special guests on the occasion.
The inaugural match was played between Durga Cricket Club Ramban and Pranoo Cricket Club Doda.
Batting first after winning the toss, Durga Cricket Club scored 176 runs by losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Surinder scored 90 runs, while Sanjay contributed 19 runs. From Pranoo Cricket Club Doda , Fartuallah and Rizwan Khan took 1 wicket each.
Pranoo Cricket Club could not chase the target and managed to score 117 runs by losing all the wickets in 19 overs. Majid was the top scorer from Pranoo Cricket Club who scored 43 runs followed by Faraz who contributed 14 runs. For Durga Cricket Club, Shubham and Neeraj shared 4 and 3 wickets respectively. Surinder of Durga Cricket Club Ramban was declared as man of the match for his brilliant batting display.
The match was officiated by Amit Bansal and Darmash Bhardawaj as umpires while Rinku acted as scorer.
