JAMMU, Dec 23: Gaurav Gupta, renowned sports enthusiast, barefoot marathon runner and Secretary of Jammu Club, met Malika Nadda, National President of Special Olympics Bharat (SOB) in Delhi. The meeting came after Gupta’s appointment as the President of SOB for Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory (JKUT). Dr. Ashwani Jojra, Founding President and Area Director of SOB JKUT, also participated in the discussion.
Gupta presented a comprehensive agenda focused on strengthening the Special Olympics movement across JKUT. He emphasized the importance of reaching out to underserved communities to ensure the inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Gupta assured Malika Nadda of his firm commitment to fulfilling the mission and vision of Special Olympics Bharat. He expressed his determination to engage all sections of society and collaborate with like-minded organizations to provide a robust foundation for this noble cause.
Gupta shared his excitement about being part of this global movement, which operates in over 194 countries, working to enhance the dignity and lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports. “I am committed to working with passion and devotion to achieve the set targets,” he said.
Malika Nadda expressed her full support for expanding the SOB movement in JKUT, particularly in high-altitude and difficult terrains. Dr. Ashwani Jojra praised Gupta’s leadership and his potential to elevate the movement to new heights.
