SRINAGAR, May 20: The Islamic University of Science & Technology, Awantipora organized one-day seminar on latest trends in Information Security in its campus today.
Minister of State for Information Technology, Science & Technology, Feroz Ahmad Khan was the chief guest on the occasion.
Vice Chancellor, Islamic University of Science & Technology, Prof. A.R.Trag, Director, National Institute of Technology, Srinagar Prof. Rajat Gupta were the guests of honour.
The Minister, in his address, stated that the state has established State Data centres to ensure implementation of the security standards towards the safety of applications and data store in the data centre. He said various policies are being implemented in order to safeguard integrity and safety of information of various departments.
Mr. Feroz said that the Information Technology Department has extended security by having network operation centres and Information Security personnel. The IT Department has sent a proposal to the Planning and Finance Departments for funding to further improve the data base level of security, he maintained.
The other dignitaries also dwelt in detail about the latest trends in Information security. They stressed for maintaining secrecy at each level of data processing and prevention of unauthorized disclosures.
