rajouri, May 20: Senior Congress leader and former legislator, Ashok Sharma has urged for formulating a holistic youth policy in Jammu and Kashmir bringing into its ambit employment and various other aspects for ensuring a bright future for them.
Mr Sharma was addressing the participants of the 3-day camp for Rahul Gandhi Youth Brigade at Taryath in Rajouri today.
He said that youth constitute an important segment of society and they have to be enabled to build a bright future for them, which in turn will help in making a prosperous state.
Mr Sharma disclosed that 50 such youth camp for the volunteers of Rahul Gandhi Youth Brigade will be organized in Jammu division within one year and one hundred youth will participate in the each camp.
He further said a massive plantation drive would be launched by Rahul Gandhi Youth Brigade in Jammu Division during the coming rainy season during which 1.50 lac plants will be planted across the Jammu division.
As many as 100 youth of Taryath and adjoining areas participated in the camp in which 14 resource persons delivered lecture on 21subjects and interacted with them on varied issues.
Competitions in cricket, volleyball and kabaddi were also organized for the participants of the camp, in order to promote sports and spirit of competition among them.
These matches and training programme were organized in collaboration with the ICELA and Youth Services and Sports Department, Rajouri.
Mr Sharma on the occasion gave away trophies and prizes to the winners and runner-up teams and certificates to all the participants.
Kuldeep Singh, Kuldeep Sharma and Ranbir Singh were adjudged as best players whereas Ajay Kumar and Vindo Bazal, were adjudged as best trainees and were given certificates and trophies.
