UDHAMPUR, May 21: District Kupwara scripted victories in Under-14 and Under-17 boys Handball Tournament, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, here.
District Kupwara got better of District Baramulla by (4-3) in Under-14 boys category, while registered victory over District Kathua in a close contest by (6-5) in Under-17 boys category.
Earlier, in Under-14 boys, District Udhampur defeated District Kathua by (6-3), District Pulwama blanked District Budgam by (3-0), while in Under-17 boys, District Baramulla beat District Kulgam by (11-3), Jammu defeated District Doda by (10-9), Pulwama prevailed over Ramban by (7-5) and Baramula outplayed District Shopian by (7-3).
The tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Udhampur, under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, its Director General and under the supervision of Sukhdev Singh, DYSSO, Udhampur.
The matches were officiated by Ravi Singh, Ajay Sharma, Karan Magotra, Amit Sharma, Ajit Singh, Shashi Sharma, Pooja Devi, Manik Nargotra, Rakesh Sawhney, Rakesh Khajuria, Rishi Sharma, Raman Kumar, Ravi Kumar and Vipen Kumar.
Others present on the occasion were Santosh Kumari, Deepika Manhas, Sushma Rani, Anupama Devi, Som Dev, Naveen Sharma, Sanjay Sharma and Sanjeev Kumar.
