LEH, Jan 7: In an exhilarating day at the Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League (REIHL) Season 2, Padma Desal led Sham Eagles to an 8-3 victory over Chiktan Queens in the women’s category, setting a new season record for the highest-scoring match. Desal’s remarkable six-goal performance was the highlight of the match, as the Eagles dominated throughout, despite a late push from the Queens.
In the men’s category, Changthan Shans continued their perfect start to the season, defeating Zangskar Chadar Tamers by 7-2. After a tight first period, the Shans took control in the second, with goals from Dorjan Namgyal and others sealing their third consecutive win. Meanwhile, the Purig Warriors stunned the Sham Wolves, ending their unbeaten streak with a 5-2 victory. Goals from Imran Ali, Nadeem Sarwar, and Mohammad Ali Baba ensured a comfortable win for the Warriors.
In an exciting encounter, Humas Warriors and Shakar Chiktan Royals battled to a 3-3 draw, with both teams showcasing resilience. The Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League continues at the Nawang Dorjay Stobdan Stadium, with the women’s final set for January 12 and the men’s final on January 13.
