REASI, Jan 8: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Department, organized Self-Defence Camps for girls at the Indoor Sports Complex, Reasi, under the theme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
The event was graced by Sachin Sharma, Social Welfare Officer and Tarsem Singh, DYSSO Reasi, as the chief guests. They addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of self-defence training in empowering girls and ensuring their safety in society.
The primary objective of the camp was to raise awareness about self-defence techniques while fostering confidence and resilience among girls. This initiative aligns with the Government’s broader vision of promoting the welfare, education, and empowerment of girls.
A large number of girls from various schools in the district took part in the training sessions, which were conducted by a team of skilled instructors, including Jagdev Singh, Kuldeep Kumar, Arun Dev, Ashok Kumari, Shamim Akther, Sanjay Kumar, Vinod Singh and Mahesh Singh.
