Randhawa lauds medallists

JAMMU, Jan 9: The J&K Strength Lifting Association today organized a felicitation ceremony to honour the medallists of the 34th National Strength Lifting and Inclined Bench Press Championship, held recently in Loharu, Haryana.
Vikram Randhawa, MLA Bahu Constituency, attended the ceremony as the chief guest. In his address, Randhawa congratulated the medallists for their hard work, discipline and dedication, which led to their success at the national level. He emphasized the importance of physical and mental fitness for both personal development and national progress, stating that a healthy youth is key to a prosperous nation.
Randhawa also highlighted various sports initiatives launched by the Government, including the establishment of 100 Khelo India Centres across 20 districts, specialized Excellence Centres for Fencing and Water Sports, and the construction of 300 sports fields and indoor stadiums at the district and panchayat levels under the PMDP and Khelo India schemes. He praised programs like “My Youth My Pride” and “Khelo India” for engaging youth and raising J&K’s sports profile.
