REASI, May 23: Outclassing district Udhampur by (2-0) in the title clash, district Reasi won the title trophy of the first State Level Inter-District Under-14 Girls Kho-Kho Championship, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Government Higher Secondary School, here today.
District Reasi looked unbeatable and dominated their rivals in all the departments of the game including running, chasing and touching. Riya Manhas, Roshni Devi and Chander Kala played splendidly and displayed extraordinary motorability, anticipation, reflexes and flexibility. All these players remained not out in both the innings of the final match as well as in the both the innings of semifinals played earlier.
S Rajinder Singh Tara, Additional DDC, Reasi was the chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking said that sports provides equal opportunities to one and all strictly on the basis of the talent possessed, irrespective of caste, colour, creed, geographical or national barriers.
The chief guest also interacted with the participants as well as with the coaches/managers accompanying their respective teams.
Later-on, he distributed the prizes and awarded championship trophies to the winners.
Dr H S Rana, District Chief Husbandry Officer and Ishtiyak Ahmed Kacho, DySP were the guests of honour on the occasion.
Other prominent persons present on the occasion comprised officers of the Education Department including Principal of GGHSS Reasi, P D Sharma; Principal, Boys Higher Secondary School, Reasi, M M Khajuria; Headmaster, HS Kambal Danga; Romail Singh, besides Lecturers, ZPEOs, ZEOs, Masters and Teachers of DYSS and Education Department.
The concluding function was graced by a big sporting crowd.
