SAMBA, May 23: District Samba thrashed district Jammu by one innings and 4 points in the title clash and lifted the title trophy of the Under-14 Boys Kho-Kho Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of its Director General at Government Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur, here.
Samba boys dominated the game from the word go and displayed extraordinary reflexes and anticipation to outclass the opponents convincingly. Arun Singh was declared best player of the Tournament.
Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed certificates and trophies among the winners and the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Agarwal said that sports and games infuse team spirit and discipline among the players, besides developing physical fitness and inculcating punctuality among them.
The Tournament was organized under the Chairmanship of Ved Parkash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and under the overall supervision of Subash Chander Bharadwaj, DYSSO, Samba.
The vote of thanks was presented by Devanand, Principal, GHSS, Vijaypur.
The matches were officiated by Ravi Kumar, Romesh, Kulbir Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Vinod Sharma, Chander Parkash, Purb Kumar and Kranti Khajuria.
