Quality education, moral values imperative for students: Ashwani

JAMMU, May 24: Cultural Wing of State Information Department today organized  Symposium-Cum-Cultural Programme in the premises of Government Girls Higher Secondary School at Bishnah, here this afternoon.
On the occasion, Member Legislative Assembly, Ashwani Sharma  was the chief guest.
About five students from Government Girls Higher Secondary School of Bishnah spoke on the topic ‘Water Conservation Everybody’s concern’.
Principal of the school Dr C S Vaid, Cultural Officer Information Department, Raman Joshi besides teaching, non-teaching staff members including students of the school in large numbers were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Sharma called upon the teaching fraternity to ensure quality education to the students besides according equal focus on enthusing high ethos among them which is pre-requisite for their overall development.
He said such programmes encourage the students harness of their talent besides giving them much needed exposure.
Later, Member Legislative Assembly distributed mementos and certificates among the among the first, second and third topped three students participated in the symposium.
The two-hour long programme compared by the veteran artist of Jammu and Kashmir Jia Lal Sharma who enthralled the audience with his latest jokes depicted on education.
Earlier, a colourful programme presented by the artists of the cultural wing of the Information Department included Jeevan Sharma, Vijay Anand, Surjit Singh Sumbaria, Neeta Adarsh, Sunil Kumar, Kamal Kumar, Bodh Raj and Bunty Kumar.
