Prof Shah inaugurates 3rd VC’s T20 cricket tournament

Srinagar, May 26: Vice Chancellor Kashmir University Professor A M Shah today inaugurated the first VC’s T20 open cricket tournament at the Varsity ground here.
The event started with ceremonial inaugural batting by Prof Shah and the bowling by Director Physical Education and Sports Department, Prof B A Khan.
In the event, around 32 teams are participating from across the valley.
Speaking on the inaugural function, Prof Shah said such kinds of events contribute a lot towards the development of society and that “I will work for the development of sport in university.”
“It is great to see department coming up with the idea of an open type event,” he said.
“It is the way of contributing towards the betterment of the society and for its overall development,” he added.
Earlier, welcoming the guests and players, Prof Khan said, “The event is being organized for 3rd time in KU.”
“It is possible only due to efforts of two coaches, Amjid Qasir, cricket coach who worked hard to make it a reality. I am happy to see the event getting such grand opening.”
The inaugural match was played between Srinagar Gymkhana and FCC.
