JAMMU, May 26: Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) today registered their protest against Narendra Modi’s move to invite Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif on his swearing-in ceremony, by holding demonstration on Janipur-Bantalab Road at New Plot, here.
Led by their president, Sunil Dimple, the activists of JWAM holding placards in their hands started shouting slogans against Pakistan and its PM Nawaz Sharif, who reached New Delhi today to attend PM-designated Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.
The protestors burnt the Pakistan flags and effigy of Nawaz Sharif and demanded the Indian Government to stop holding talks with the Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief, till Pakistan stops terrorism.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple expressed surprise over Narender Modi’s invitation to Nawaz Sharief, saying how could Modi invite Sharif on its swearing-in ceremony when anti-Modi and anti-India protests are going on in Pakistan.
He said we want to send a clear message to Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharief to stop aiding and abetting terrorism, frequent violation of the ceasefire and infiltrations in the State of Jammu and Kashmir and our country.
He said Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh are integral part of India and the people of the State and country should be taken into confidence before any such move with Pakistan.
Meanwhile, police took Dimple into its custody for holding anti-Pakistan protest but released after few hours.
