JAMMU, May 26: First woman IPS officer of India, Dr Kiran Bedi will inaugurate “Aryans JK Scholarship Mela” being organized by Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh tomorrow at Jammu and Srinagar.
This was disclosed by Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Group of Colleges, Chandigarh during a press conference here this afternoon.
He further stated that Dr Bedi would visit Press Club Jammu to address the students in the morning. She would also address students in Srinagar in the afternoon and would give scholarship letters to the meritorious students, Dr Kataria added.
He added that earlier also, hundreds of students were benefited with this scholarship scheme and are studying in various courses at Aryans campus.
Dr Kataria further said that “Aryans JK Scholarship Mela” is for the deserving students who are not financially strong. He added that under this scheme, scholarships are given purely on merit-cum-means basis and it will be partially funded by the bank, partially by the student and partially by the college.
He added that students selected under scholarship would study in different courses like B Tech, M Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, BA, B Com, BEd, Nursing, Polytechnic, +1 (Non Medical), etc.
He said that today higher education has become very costly and is out of the reach of the common man. Due to which, many meritorious students also leave their studies in between, adding that Aryans and Dr Kiran Bedi have come forward to fulfill the dreams of needy and deserving students to study higher.
