JAMMU, May 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Low Paid Government Employees Federation (LPEF) today urged upon the State Government to release 10% DA from January 2014 and clear the balance amount of 6th Pay Commission arrears in favour of State employees and pensioners.
President of the Federation Abdul Majid Khan, in a press statement here today said that low paid employees and pensioners are facing lot of hardships due to soaring prizes of essential commodities and other items. He said these and several other common as well as sectional grievances were highlighted by the Federation and sought immediate redressal so that cordial relations are maintained with the authorities concerned.
Mr Khan projected the main demands of the employees which included merger of 50% DA in basic pay/ pension, grant of 20% interim relief pending finalization of recommendations by 7th Central Pay Commission, enhancement of Medical allowance to Rs 1000, minimum daily wage to Rs 300, remuneration of village guards at par with minimum daily wage, extension of leave encashment benefit in respect of teachers, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre and regularisation of daily rated/ adhoc and consolidated workers.
The Federation president fully endorsed the serious concern expressed by J&K State Pensioners Association over the inordinate delay being caused in revising pension of pre-2006 pensioners under Government order No. 57-F of 2013, payment of 6% DA arrears to pre-2009 pensioners for the period from January to June 2009 and raising pension by 20% and above after 80 years of age on Central pattern.
