SRINAGAR, May 28: Chief Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khandey today chaired the 6th meeting of the High Level Monitoring Committee (HLMC) constituted for monitoring proper utilization of grants awarded by the 13th Finance Commission to the J&K State.
The Committee reviewed the extent of utilization of the grants for State specific needs, forest sector, water sector management, capacity building for disaster management, improvement in justice delivery, improvement in statistical system, etc, besides it also reviewed the decisions taken during its earlier meetings.
The Committee also approved the Revised Detailed Action Plan of Rs 120 crore, for conservation and management of Wullar Lake, action plan for balance amount of Rs 3.3088 crore, for District Innovation Fund in respect of 6 districts etc.
The Committee held deliberations regarding the 14th Finance Commission, the meetings for which are scheduled next month.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Planning and Development, B R Sharma, Principal Secretary Finance, B B Vyas, Principal Secretary Home, Suresh Kumar, other Administrative Secretaries and senior officers.
