KATRA, May 29: The District Development Commissioner, Reasi Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today called upon the civil society to extend support to underprivileged and orphan children to help them achieve success in life.
Addressing a function organized by Disha Hostel Kadmal Katra, run by Sewa Bharti Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate its annual day, the DDC said that these little souls are not fortunate enough to have their families to look after them so they deserve all support from the society.
Dr Choudhary was chief guest on the occasion, while Commandant 6th Battalion CRPF, Sunil Kumar was the guest of honour and Shakti Pathak, SSP Crime was special invitee.
Earlier, the function started with lighting of ceremonial lamp which was followed by Saraswati Vandhna by the inmates of the hostel.
Commandant 6th Battalion CRPF said that main aim of education should be to build character and to cultivate human values in students. He said education should retain smiles of children and this can happen if the system is made creative throughout and full employment is provided to all.
Among others Anil Gupta, Senior Manager SBI Katra, Prof Ashtoush, Department of Management Sciences SMVDU, Shiv Kumar, Rakesh Wazir office bearers of Sewa Bharti were present on the occasion.
