JKCA holds coaches’ meeting, reviews arrangements for camps

JAMMU, May 31: The Jammu wing of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) held a meeting of coaches and working committee members to review the arrangements for the upcoming activities including coaching camps at JKCA Office Bathindi, here today.
The meeting among others was attended by joint secretary Jammu wing, Sudarshan Mehta and vice chairman, Rakesh Kumar, apart from senior Ranji trophy cricketer, Vinod Sharma.
After holding a threadbare discussion on various aspects of organizing the events in a befitting manner, the meeting decided to hold 2-weeks camp in each district of the division as per the directions of JKCA president, Dr Farooq Abdullah.
“We have decided to hold 2-weeks coaching camp in each district of Jammu province under expert coaches as per the wish of our president,” said Sudershan Mehta, joint secretary, JKCA Jammu wing.
The selected boys from each district will be the probables for the final selection trials in all age groups to be followed by the trial matches.
Meanwhile, meeting said that the Association has already decided to hold 4-weeks coaching camp from June 14 at GGM Science College Hostel ground, which will be followed by another 3-weeks camp and the selection matches, with a 5-days break in each camp.
The members also decided to hold Ved Prakash Memorial U-19 Inter-School Tournament in the month of August, wherein 30-36 teams will be participating.
The meeting decided to complete all the activities by October 2014.
The coaches have suggested the Association to use SG Test balls during the cricketing activities.
The Association will also entertain Pawan Sharma and Gursharan Singh (Sonu) as trainers during the activies.
Prominent among others the meeting was attended by Vinod Sharma, Prof Madan Mohan Sharma, Ashwani Gupta, Vivek Sahrma, Ajay Vaid, Randhir Singh, Ravi Sharma, Sandeep Singh Sunny, Surjeet Singh and Brij Mohan.
