SRINAGAR June 6: 8th class student of Army Public School Srinagar, Mudasir Ahmed attained 4th position in National Level Examination of the Journey to NASA Astronomy Olympiad-2014.
About two lakh students from 1500 schools participated in the examination out of which 15000 were shortlisted for the 2nd National Level Award. Of these, 30 students emerged as winners.
Mudasir Ahmed who attained 4th slot was felicitated for his achievement at an Award giving ceremony held at New Delhi.
Initiated by the Saraswati Group the NASA Astronomy Olympiad is a unique and innovative platform providing opportunities to the students to be exposed to astronomy as also have a chance to visit NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the pre-eminent USA Space Agency).
Applauding Mudasir Ahmed the School Principal, Sandeep Marhatta said that such competitions provides national and international level platform to the students and benefit the enterprising talent in the Country.
