DODA, June 7: Outplaying Asrarya Cricket Club Kishtwar in an easy contest by 8 wickets in the semifinals, Islamia Cricket Club Bhanihal entered the finals of the ongoing All India 10th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2014, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by the Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank, Bajaj Allianz and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Asrarya Cricket Club Kishtwar made 126 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Hinan scored 74 runs while Arshad made 13 runs. For Islamia Cricket Club Banihal, Rafiq Baba and Sarfraz shared 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
In reply, Islamia Cricket Club chased the target in 11.2 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Sajid Ali made 72 runs, while Imran Dar contributed 12 runs to the total. For Asrarya Cricket Club, Shabir Dar and Fida Hussian claimed 1 wicket each.
Sajid Ali of Islamia Cricket Club Banihal was declared as man of the match for his superb batting performance. The award was presented to him by Zaffrullah Rather, Ex Municipal Committee Chairman, Doda.
The match was officiated by Darmesh Bhardwaj and Sanjay Singh as umpires, while Waseem Raja acted as the scorer.
