REASI, June 7: District Reasi emerged champions in the State Level Inter-District Under-14 and Under-17 Boys Wrestling Championship, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, which concluded, here today.
Baldev Raj Sharma, MLA Reasi was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Krishan Lal, General Manager Industries was the guest of honour. Bodh Raj, Assistant Director Fisheries and Captain Leher Singh, veteran wrestler and coach were the special guests on the occasion.
The Championship was held under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports, Navin Agarwal and under the supervision of DYSSO, Reasi, Dr Swarn Singh Chib.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lavished praise for the organizers for holding the mega event and extended his support for the development of sports infrastructure in the district.
Earlier, in Under-14 boys, Arun Singh of District Samba toppled Arun Kumar of District Reasi, Anil Kumar of Reasi got better of Harsh Singh of Samba, Madan Singh of Reasi prevailed over Rajinder Singh of Udhampur, Arjun Singh of Kishtwar won against his rival, Maneesh Kumar of Kathua got better of Ravinder Singh of Doda, Bagh Hussain of Kathua defeated Bubble Mehra of Jammu and Alam Hussain of Doda outplayed Sahil Masih of Samba, while in Under-17 boys, Rashpal Singh of Reasi outwitted Arun Kumar of Jammu, Surjeet Singh of Reasi beat Pawn Singh of Samba, Mohd Ashraf of Reasi trounced Jeevan Singh of Kathua, Chain Singh of Reasi outclassed Abhey Singh of Jammu, Muntassir Hussain of Doda prevailed over Suresh Kumar of Ramban, Seva Ram of Doda beat Moin Khan of Reasi and Surinder Singh of Jammu drubbed Ranbir Singh of Doda.
The bouts were officiated by Kulbir Singh, Basant Ram and Govind Ram.
