JAMMU, Mar 17: Sat Sharma, President of J&K BJP, launched a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC) Government for its utter ignorance and negligence towards promoting the vital issues of Divyang talent in Jammu & Kashmir. He accused the NC Government of indulging in blame politics for the past five months instead of honouring those who bring pride to society, region and nation with their dedication.
Sat Sharma praised a young Divyang, Jahangir, who won two medals (silver and bronze) at the “Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025” held in Italy. He highlighted how Jahangir had brought laurels to J&K and India, but while the Union Government supported the young athlete, the J&K Government, led by NC, ignored such brilliance hailing from Kashmir.
Sharma noted that the team of 30 talented competitors sent for the “Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025” won 33 medals under the supervision of Dr. Mallika Nadda, President of Special Olympics Bharat. Despite this achievement, no representative from the J&K Government was present at the IGI Airport in Delhi to welcome the winners.
Sharma urged the J&K Government to recognize Jahangir’s achievements, promote Divyang sports and provide better facilities, infrastructure and training for such talented youth. He also emphasized the importance of fostering a sports culture in J&K, similar to initiatives like ‘Khelo India’ under the Modi Government.
