JAMMU, Mar 17: The Anti-Drug Veterans Cricket Tournament 2025 T-20 League was officially inaugurated by DIG Jammu-Kathua-Samba Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, along with Zorawar Singh Jamwal (Chairman, Team Jammu). The tournament, organized by Ludhiana Brothers in collaboration with Team Jammu, aims to combat drug abuse by promoting sports as a positive outlet for youth.
In his speech, DIG highlighted the growing menace of drug abuse, describing it as a serious threat to society that must be eradicated. He urged the public to support preventive measures and work together to stop the spread of drugs. He also called on parents to take a proactive role in counselling their children against drug use and emphasized the police’s commitment to cracking down on the drug mafia.
Zorawar Singh Jamwal spoke about the devastating impact of drug addiction on individuals and society, accusing Pakistan of using drug mafias to exploit Indian youth. Meanwhile, two matches were played today, with Jandyal Group winning by 9 wickets against Janta Sports Cricket Club and Jammu Enterprises Cricket Club triumphing over Elight 11 Cricket Club by 8 wickets.
