SRINAGAR, July 10:
Nineteen guests from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) were among 86 people who crossed sides on the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir in the weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.
Official sources said here today that 19 PoK guests, including two women and five children, arrived at Kaman Post, the last Indian military post, after crossing the Amen Setu, peace bridge on LoC in Uri sector.
They said nine Kashmiris, including three women, who had gone to the PoK, also returned here after completing their stay there with relatives separated in 1947.
Twelve resident of Kashmir, including four women and equal number of children, also crossed over to PoK to meet their relatives.
They said 46 PoK residents, who had come here in previous buses, also returned to their homes after completing stay in Kashmir. They included 12 women and 18 children.
The weekly bus, introduced on April 7, 2005, has helped thousands of families divided in 1947 to meet each other. (UNI)
