JAMMU, July 10: Police today arrested a Government official of Rural Development Department along with 9 ammunition rounds and charas at village Bandi Chechian in Poonch district.
Police said a Village Level Worker (VLW) Mushtaq Hussain Shah son of Khurshid Hussain Shah R/o Bandi Chechian was traveling in his Maruti car No. 3579 JK12 when he was intercepted on a tip off given by Intelligence agencies at Bandi Chechian this morning.
Police arrested Shah and recovered from his car seven rounds of AK rifle, two rounds of Pika gun and 230 grams charas.
Shah has been taken into custody for questioning to ascertain source of the recovery of ammunition. His involvement in militancy was also being ascertained.
A case has been registered for further investigations.
