MENDHAR, June 19: A gathering about 5000 people, who had assembled here at Chhajjla Mankote to celebrate Pothai Ziarat in Urs like every year, staged a strong protest demonstration against Mechanical Division, Poonch for its failure to restore water supply.
A large number of people including Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs together staged a strong protest against the PHE dDpartment and the concerned JE and AEE for their failure to provide adequate arrangements of water. They raised slogans against the concerned officials and Minister.
Later, they registered their complaint with administrator of Pothai Ziarat, Naib Tehsildar, Shahad Khan, who pacified them on the assurance that the matter will be taken up with higher authorities of PHE Department.
When contacted SDM Mendhar, Romesh Kumar said that an enquiry will be conducted into the matter and the action will be taken against the accused officials for their laxity.
