SRINAGAR, June 19: Police Kupwara along with Forest Protection Force seized 273 Kgs of banned forest herbs in Sogam area of Kupwara district last evening and arrested two persons in this connection.
Police said that acting on a specific information, Police Kupwara and Forest Protection Force during Naka checking at Sogam seized 273 kgs of banned herbs (Tripetri) from a vehicle bearing registration number JK05D-6706.
Two persons Amin Sofi son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Old Town Baramulla and Mohammad Afzal Mir son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Darpora Lolab, who were carrying these herbs, have been arrested.
Sogam Police has registered a case and investigation is on.
