NCB organises rally against menace of drug abuse

R S Pura, June 23: In continuation to the series of programme being organized on the occasion of 26th June “International Say against the Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”, Narcotics Control Bureau Jammu zonal unit organized a rally today.
The rally was flagged off by Neeraj Dubey, Commandant, BSF 193 Bn, R S Pura along with Manoj Kumar, Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu.   The rally started from Mahatma Gandhi Park (behind Tehsil) and culminated at Bana Singh Stadium via R S Pura Bazar and Bus Stand.
Students from different schools, staff/ volunteers of NGO “Sahyag India”, BSF personnel from 193 Bn, Sarpanchs and Panchs of border villages took part in the rally. Narcotics Control Bureau provided banners, and placards to the participants to spread the message visually to the local public in the R S Pura Market. During the rally, pamphlets consisting information on drugs and NDPS Act, were also distributed to the shopkeepers to make them aware about the menace of drug abuse and their ill effects on the human body.
Addressing the participants, Manoj Kumar, Zonal Director NCB Jammu emphasized upon the audience regarding the steps being taken by the agency to curb the menace of drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir.
Devinder Singh, SDPO, R S Pura, Dr Ashvini  Jojra, founder president of NGO “Sahyog India” along with Lalit Sharma, Mattoo also participated in the rally.
