Gani of Punjab wins 118th Ravta Dangal title

KATRA, June 24: Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab clinched the 118th Annual Ravta Dangal title, defeating Pardeep of Patiala in 20 minutes long bout at Ravta in Jammu.
Winner and runners-up wrestlers of the first malli bout were awarded with cash prize of Rs 25,000 and Rs 12,000 respectively by chief guest, State General Secretary BSP and Candidate from Nagrota Constituency, Rakesh Wazir; President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and NC Block President, Sham Lal Sharma, President of Ravta Dangal Committee.
Dangal was organized by Ravta Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Panch Raj Paul Kesar.
Around 76 wrestlers drawn from within and outside the State participated in the event.
In all 40 bouts were played in the one day long Dangal and expenditure of Rs 1,55, 000 has been incurred for conducting the dangal.
