Pharmacist Association organizes dharna in support of demands

UDHAMPUR, June 25: Highlighting their demands, members of Jammu and Kashmir Pharmacist Association today held a protest dharna in the office premises of Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur.
The protesting Pharmacists, led by Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Federation provincial president Sushil Kumar Sudan, raised slogans in support of their demands and also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Medical Officer.
The Pharmacists from all parts of Jammu province took part in the protest demonstration and asked the Government not to treat them step motherly.
While addressing the dharna, Sushil Sudan stressed that demands of the Pharmacist Association should be considered and fulfilled by the Government at the earliest, otherwise we will be left with no option other than to intensify our struggle at provincial and State level, he threatened.
The demands, highlighted by the speakers during dharna, included, running grades to Pharmacists, implementation of Government order number 132 HME of 2002 designating Pharmacists for the promotion as CHO, registration of all in service Pharmacists with the Pharmacy Council of India, creation of posts of Theatre Assistant, Anaesthesia Assistant etc.
Others who addressed the dharna, included Kamaljeet Singh Saini, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Ajeet Kumar, J D Sharma, Bal Krishan Sharma, Tilak Raj Sharma, Dheeraj Kumar, Dev Raj Kundal, Surinder Gupta, Ashwani Magotra, Sheikh Nazir, Jugal Bakshi, Darshan Kumar, Khem Raj, Mulkh Raj and Ashwani Khajuria.
