KATRA, June 26: Lalli of Garh Shanker in Punjab clinched the 6th Annual Battal Dangal title, defeating Amit of Guru Hunumam Akhara Delhi in 6 minute-long bout at Battal, Majalta in Udhampur, today.
Winner and runners-up wrestlers of the first malli bout were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and Rs 8,000 respectively by president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, president District Udhampur Indian Stlyle Wrestling Association, Virender Sharma and president of Battal Dangal Committee Dewan Chand Sharma.
Dangal was organized by Battal Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Dewan Chand Sharma.
Around 78 wrestlers drawn from within and outside the State participated in the event.
In all, 43 bouts were played in the event.
