Sir,
This has reference to the article “A case or separate Directorate for Consumer Affairs” DE June 15. The author has very well pleaded the cause for a separate Directorate to redress the grievances of consumers in the State who suffer terribly in absence of a redressal mechanism. The consumers feel a harassed lot these days. They are fleeced by transporters, shop-keepers, vegetable-sellers, meat-sellers etc. The CAPD has failed to live to the expectations of consumers. People need a very strong body where they can lodge their complaints and receive some prompt response from it. The Government must contemplate on the suggestions made by the writer in his writeup.
Yours etc….
