Narula is new CEO, Aijaz Forests

JAMMU, July 11: The State Cabinet today ordered transfer and posting of two officers.
Umang Narula, Commissioner/Secretary, Forests, has been transferred and posted as Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), J&K, relieving Home Secretary B R Sharma of the additional charge of the post.
Mr Sharma had been holding additional charge of the CEO for past quite sometime. He was instrumental in holding successful Assembly and Parliament elections in 2008 and 2009 and Panchayat elections in the State last year after about four decades.
The Election Commission of India had recently approved the name of Mr Narula as CEO from a panel of three officers.
Aijaz Iqbal has been posted as Secretary Forests.
The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, also approved revision of conveyance allowance in favour of blind and orthopedically handicapped employees of the State.
The new revised conveyance allowance shall now be 5 per cent of basic pay (pay in pay band plus grade pay) or maximum to Rs 1000 per month, whichever is less.
